Special Educational Needs

I believe that everyone should have access to playing music and have extensive experience working with children who are deaf, blind, have autism, ADHD or SEMH needs.

With Hands on Harps, I helped to develop the Rainbow Harp which breaks down barriers to reading music and playing the harp.

As of autumn 2025, I am studying a postgraduate certificate in music for children with special needs, using The Sounds of Intent framework.

Prices:
30 mins - £20
45 mins - £30
1 hour - £34

I have been having online harp lessons with Ellie for a few years now, and she is a fabulous teacher. Ellie is very patient, encouraging and has a wide range of teaching tools to help my progression. I would definitely recommend Ellie to anyone thinking of picking up music as an adult.

About Me

At the age of 13 I was given the opportunity to learn local folk music with Gael Music. It felt as if this was exactly what I was meant to do! I attended multiple Halsway Manor Young Folk courses, which led me to perform at Sidmouth Folk Festival. Shooting Roots quickly snapped me up as a trainee tutor, and I have tutored multiple years with them, teaching young people to play folk music, arrange pieces and perform on stage. I now perform as part of a folk duo with my brother.

Whilst working as a harp maker for Hands on Harps, we developed the Rainbow Harp, and I authored the Rainbow Harp books. This has guided me along a path to work with children with SEN, offering sessions and tuition for a wide range of needs.

Multiple students of mine have achieved LCM Traditional Grades and ABRSM Performance Grades.

My goal is to show everyone that playing the harp can be fun, accessible and intuitive.
